March Updates

So I gave my standard spiel about the Zine and submissions at the last club meeting and I also posted a link to this blog on the Facebook page, so I hope those of you who come to check us out will like what you see!

As an update, I have a ton of art and photographs for the next issue, but we are desperately in need of text articles (anime/manga reviews, fanfiction, cosplay tips, etc.).  If you have something you want to write about, send it in!  It is (practically) guaranteed to be published.  If you would like to write something but don't really know what to write about, you can contact me at the Zine e-mail (onigirizine@gmail.com) and we can bounce some ideas around.

Just because we have enough art and photography for the next issue doesn't mean we won't accept those anymore!  If you have art and photographs you really want to see published, send it in anyway and we will hold it for the next issue.

I am also interested in possibly getting someone onto the publishing team to do a bit of graphic design for us, mostly doing covers for each issue and possibly designing some headers for the different sections of the Zine.  So if you love art and have a talent for Photoshop, GIMP, or other graphics editing programs and you would be interested in helping the Zine a couple of times a year, please e-mail the address above!

That's all for now; stay tuned for more updates and the next issue of the Onigiri E-Zine!

Happy Holidays!

Hello, everyone!  It's been a while since an update or new issue, unfortunately, and this is mostly due to a lack of reader submissions.  This zine cannot live without articles and art from you, the reader, so please consider submitting something.  Anything is greatly appreciated and it doesn't have to be long or complicated.

On a better note, the staff of the Onigiri E-zine and the leadership of the Onigiri Animanga club would like to wish all of you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year, as well as every other holiday for this year and next.

The club Christmas party was held this weekend on Saturday the 21st.  All members, old and new, who attended had a great time and, if you missed it this year, we hope you can join us next year.

A holiday special issue of the zine will be coming out for the new year with pictures from the Halloween party in October and the Christmas party.

We are seeking submissions for the holiday issue; any holiday themed works of fanfiction or fanart would be wonderful to see and other articles are also needed.

Have a wonderful rest of the year, everybody, and we'll see you soon! :)

Change In Plans

Due to the lack of submissions for the October issue, the staff of the Onigiri E-Zine has decided to release an issue every other month instead of every month until we can get it off the ground.

This means that you can submit articles until October 23rd and they will be published in the second issue, set for release November 1.

Also, don't forget about the Animanga Club Halloween party on October 19!  We'll have a fantastic time in whatever costume you care to wear with food, music, anime, and some really cool games so don't miss it!

Submit Now for Issue 2!

Well, everybody, it's that time again!  With the successful debut of the first issue of the Onigiri E-Zine, we need you to make our second issue even better!

If you have any fanart, fanfiction, news articles, or anime/manga reviews, we want to publish them!  Not sure if your idea for a submission will work for us?  Just send it on in and we'll let you know if anything needs to be changed.

So start researching, writing, and drawing, and send your submissions in following this guide before September 28th to have your items included in the second issue of the Onigiri E-Zine, set to release on October 4.

We'll be waiting!

Notice

Regarding the irregular formatting when you view the 'zine in dropbox:

In order to view the file properly, you should download and either save it to your computer or open it with Microsoft Word.

This should clear up the odd page breaks and overlapping image issues.  If there are still any problems, please let me know.
